I don't fear so much for myself or my wife. We're old. We don't have that many years left in the best of circumstances. I do fear for my daughter and her family. While my wife and I may have to endure a few years of hardship and pain, they have a lifetime of slavery and deprivation waiting. People say to me, "You live out in the country. You can hunt your food." What they don't know or remember is that during the Great Depression, wild game was nearly wiped out by people hunting to feed their family. And what else I know is that hunting is a learned skill set. Deer, bears and rabbits aren't out there with little signs that say "shoot me." Someone without experience is probably not going to do very well--especially when game gets scarce. Some might ask, "Well, what about fishing? You've got a lot of rivers and streams to fish in." And I will agree with that. But I will also remind those people, they call it fishing--not catching.
