The problem with this post is this... Has Trump ever been wrong? Every single time the CIA ran media, and the deep state try to take Trump down, it backfires massively, every single time. Even though our US govt has run the debt beyond measure, we are still the most powerful and capable and resilient country on Earth. So, we can definitely absolutely 100% outlast all other countries if they decide to try and "out wait" Trump. Almost every country relies on USA for much of their economy - much more than we rely on them. Most other countries would absolutely collapse without usa, so whoever blinks first is the loser, altho there are only winners between countries that both impose 0.0% tariffs.
The fact that President Trump already has Republican Senators teaming up with Democrats to prevent the threat and/or imposition of higher tariffs to secure more manufacturing in the U.S. is troubling. The current unfair tariff regime by foreign countries and low U.S. tariffs is unsustainable because it will further erode the U.S. economy and make the U.S. rely on foreign nations for even essential antibiotics which is reckless.
Trump is all about negotiation!...it will swing back and forth, but in the end, we will be better off. I would like to see no more buying from China. We have everything we need here if people will just stop their incessant greed and desire to have the latest gizmo! The market is already swinging up. Have patience, people!
Unfortunately, the pain caused by Trump's game of chicken is being felt mostly by the citizens here. Already my small retirement stock portfolio has taken a beating. Me and millions of other small stock owners will not have money to throw into an already shaky economy. Thousands of layoffs and firings along with all time high business closures and bankruptcies, combined with the falling stock market could push us into a recession or worse, a depression. That will be more than a "little pain". Trump's casino gambles did not turn out well, so we have to hope his global gamble turns out better, and the quicker the better. Time will shortly tell.
