She CCW'S. When police arrived at her rural home, Greene said she grabbed an AR-15 by her bed stand after hearing the doorbell and seeing flashlights outside. After police left, a second call came in to the Rome police admitting to the swatting event and saying it was because Greene opposes gender reassignment operations on minors. She has offered legislation banning the procedures on youths 18 or younger.
A second swatting attempt occurred early Thursday after somebody claiming to be from a suicide hotline called police and said more violence was occurring at the Greene home in response to the lawmaker’s political views.
But she said something in her mind told her to leave the gun behind. She believes if she had opened the door armed with it that she would have been shot.
