And one station picking it up sets in motion all the other nearby stations to listen for it as well. With just a few recordings from different sensors they can triangulate the signal and locate it to within a couple of hundred yards or even closer.
And underwater implosion carries a distinct sound signature. There are 2 booms. First one when the pressure hull ruptures and the second one when the increased pressure inside causes literally everything flammable to ignite and be consumed nearly instantly. The computers know this and can identify it and separate it from other underwater explosions which lack the double boom.
